Rustichella d'Abruzzo PrimoGrano

Rustichella d'Abruzzo PrimoGrano is a line of dry pasta made exclusively from Abruzzo durum wheat. It grew out of a project with farmers in the Vestina area – the valley of the river Tavo, once full of mills: every year growers from Pianella, Moscufo and Loreto Aprutino sow the San Carlo durum wheat variety on about 100 hectares. Sowing, harvest and storage are monitored by company experts together with research institutes, and according to the company about 80% of its raw materials come from the local area. Each step can be checked via a QR code, using data from the company's blockchain traceability system.

The pasta is made from semolina and water, extruded through bronze dies and dried at low temperature. The shop lists Spaghettoni, Chitarrone, Penne Rustiche, Traghetti, Sagne a Pezzi, Le Virtù, Sclucchiata and Spaghetti La Mischia. The Spaghettoni, 2.15 mm thick, cook in 9–11 minutes; the company suggests them for carbonara.
