Voiello's short pasta shapes, bronze-drawn from Italian durum wheat: penne, fusilli, rigatoni, ziti and more.

Voiello Pasta Corta is the group of short shapes in the range of the Neapolitan brand Voiello. Like the brand's long pasta, it is dry pasta made from durum wheat grown 100% in Italy and drawn exclusively through bronze dies with bronze inserts. Voiello says this makes the pasta very porous, so that sauce clings to it better.

The official website lists 19 shapes in this group. They include familiar shapes — penne (La Gran Penna Ruvida, double-ridged penne, mezza penna, pennetta), fusilli (Il Fusillo, Il Gran Fusillo No. 180, hollow fusillo bucato), rigatoni, tortiglioni, mezza manica, sedani, farfalle, pipa rigata and pasta mista — as well as Neapolitan shapes: ziti (double-ridged and the rolled Zito Arrotolato), mafalda, Il Paccariello Capriccioso, a small relative of paccheri, and La Tofarella No. 138.

Each shape has its own number; cooking time is given on the packet for each shape.

Voiello's short pasta is meant for thick sauces and baked dishes: ragù, pasta alla Norma with aubergine, pasta with beans or peas.
