Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart è uno scotch single malt di 15 anni di Highland Park, che Edrington nel settembre 2021 ha inserito nella gamma permanente. La gradazione è di 44 % vol. Viene imbottigliato in una bottiglia di ceramica della britannica Wade Ceramics, ispirata alle antiche brocche di terracotta della distilleria.
Secondo Just Drinks, il whisky matura soprattutto in botti di rovere europeo di primo riempimento già usate per lo sherry, con botti di rovere americano aggiunte. Drinks Adventures precisa che una piccola quota di botti di riempimento successivo aggiunge un lieve fumo di torba e note fruttate.
Perché è importante. Per età questa versione sta tra lo Highland Park 12 Year Old Viking Honour e lo Highland Park 18 Year Old Viking Pride, ma per gradazione supera entrambi: 44 % vol. contro 40 e 43. Più botti di sherry di primo riempimento danno un gusto più speziato. La bottiglia in ceramica è opaca, quindi il colore del liquido non si vede. L'OMS ricorda che non esiste una quantità di alcol sicura.
