Banza Chickpea Pasta
Banza's main range of gluten-free dry pasta made from chickpeas with pea starch, tapioca and xanthan gum, in shapes from spaghetti to cascatelli.
Banza Chickpea Pasta is the brand's original range. Its ingredients are chickpeas, pea starch, tapioca and xanthan gum, with no wheat, and the line is certified gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization. The pasta is also vegan. According to the brand, it has more protein and fibre and fewer net carbs than average wheat pasta.
The range covers long and short shapes: spaghetti, angel hair, linguine and bucatini; penne, rigatoni, cavatappi, rotini (a spiral like fusilli), shells (conchiglie), elbows (macaroni), gemelli and wheels; orzo; and cascatelli. Rotini cooks in about 6–8 minutes at a simmer. The brand advises stirring often, expecting some foam, and rinsing the pasta after draining.
The range is for people who avoid gluten or want pasta made from legumes, and it is also the base of Banza's chickpea mac and cheese.
