The core range of La Molisana: more than 60 bronze-drawn shapes of dry pasta made from Italian durum wheat semolina, from spaghetti to pastina.

La Molisana Le Classiche is the core range of La Molisana, the pasta maker from Campobasso. It is dry durum wheat pasta made from semolina of 100% Italian durum wheat, milled in the company's own mill.

The range has more than 60 shapes: long pasta such as Spaghetto quadrato n.1, Linguine n.6, Bucatini n.12 and Spaghetti n.15; short shapes such as Penne rigate n.20, Fusilli n.28, Orecchiette pugliesi n.30, Rigatoni n.31 and Mezze maniche n.38; and small pastina for soups such as Ditali n.45 and Stelline n.59. It also includes shapes developed by the company itself, such as Quadrotto n.88, Trighetto n.333 and the heart-shaped Rigacuore n.1000.

Most shapes are drawn through bronze dies, which gives a rough surface that holds sauce; a few small ones use Teflon dies. The pasta contains about 14 g of protein per 100 g. Cooking times range from 3 minutes for Capellini n.17 to 14 minutes for Rigacuore, and packs weigh 500 g.

Long shapes suit tomato and seafood sauces, short ones ragù, vegetables in pieces and baked dishes, and the pastina broths and soups.
