Pasta range ✔ Checked: 10.2026 · sources: 2 Updated:

Pastificio Gentile's main range of Pasta di Gragnano PGI from Italian durum wheat: spaghetti, fusilli, candele, mafalde and more.

Gentile Pasta di Gragnano IGP is the main range of Pastificio Gentile in Gragnano. It is dry durum wheat pasta with Pasta di Gragnano PGI status; the maker stresses that the grain is 100% Italian. Under the PGI rules, this pasta is made only from durum wheat semolina and water and produced within Gragnano.

The official site lists 16 shapes. The long ones include spaghetti sold by cooking time – "4 minutes", "8 minutes" and "12 minutes" – as well as thick spaghettone, spaghetti alla chitarra, linguine, bucatini, long candele, long ziti, mafalde, tagliatelle and pappardelle. There are signature shapes too: hand-made fusilli wound on a metal rod, the shape the pasta maker Natale Zampino started with, and long hollow fusilli. For baking there are manicotti and lasagne.

These shapes cover most classic dishes: spaghetti with tomato sauce or carbonara, linguine with seafood, tagliatelle and pappardelle with ragù, and manicotti and lasagne for oven bakes.

The Gentile brand dates from 1876 and has been owned by the Zampino family since the 1980s.
